The Norconian Clubhouse

ONE OF THE MOST HISTORIC SITES IN THE NATION

Founded on February 2, 1929, this failed resort was nothing short of magnificent and it is a miracle of survival.  Behind the wire fencing of the California Rehabilitation Center and the Naval Surface Warfare Center sits the fabulous Lake Norconian and dozens of historic buildings, structures and features.  Once the playground to stars and later a place of rehabilitation and recovery as a pre-eminent naval hospital, the Norconian continues to live on and many hope will one day re-open it’s doors to an admiring public.
